Frequently Asked Questions
What bulbs does it take, and are they included?
Two E26 bulbs, not included, so you can pick your own brightness and colour temperature. Max 15W LED per shade, and that's the LED rating, not the light output. A 15W LED puts out roughly the same light as a 100W incandescent bulb, so with two shades you're getting the equivalent of about 200W of traditional light over your island. Plenty for a working kitchen. For warm, comfortable light in a kitchen or dining room, look for 2700K to 3000K.
Will this fit over my kitchen island?
The OSLO 2-Light is 32.7 inches long. For a table or island of about 4 to 5.5 feet it centres well with room on either side. The rule most people use is to aim for the fixture to be between half and two thirds the length of the surface. If your island or table runs longer than 6 feet, the OSLO 3-Light at 46.5 inches is the better proportion.
How high should I hang it above the counter?
Around 30 to 36 inches from the countertop to the bottom of the shade. Higher spreads the light wider, lower concentrates it. The drop is adjustable up to 47.2 inches so you can set it during install.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, with an external dimmer switch or smart bulbs. There's no integrated LED or built-in dimmer, which means you're not locked into one system and can swap bulbs whenever you want.
Is it approved for Canadian electrical code?
Yes. cUL listed for both Canada and the US, so it passes inspection and won't cause issues with insurance or a home sale.
Do I need an electrician?
It's a hardwired fixture. If you're replacing an existing ceiling light on the same box, many people handle it themselves. If you're adding a new box or moving the location, use a licensed electrician. Assembly is straightforward and the fixture is light.
How fast does it ship?

What if it doesn't work in the space?
30-day returns on uninstalled fixtures. If the size or finish isn't what you expected, send it back within 30 days of delivery in its original packaging, uninstalled and unmodified. Once a fixture has been installed, it's no longer eligible for return.
Is this real Scandinavian design or a copy?
Made in Poland by TK Lighting, a European manufacturer, not a rebranded import. Country of origin is listed in the specs.
